New updates and improvements to Martide.
May 8th - Martide's Weekly Changelog and Bug Fixes
New Features:
- We added custom embarkation date types so that a user can create 8 additional fields for an embarkation record which are unique to their company.
- We added an update to Document Assembly for seafarer CVs - it is now possible to extract language proficiency.
- Language proficiency in a seafarer’s profile has changed from ‘Beginner’ and ‘Advanced’ etc. to ‘A1’, ‘A2’, ‘B1’ etc.
- We have updated the Forms feature and this now includes a Multiple Choice – Multi-Select format option for questions.
- We have added a Safe Manning tab to Vessel pages and users can set license requirements. For example, ‘One seafarer onboard must have a Master’s License and a Master Endorsement.’
- We added seafarer age, BMI and About Me tags to Document Assembly.
- We added BMI to seafarer profiles. This is automatically calculated based on the seafarer’s height and weight.
- We added an About Me section to seafarer profiles. These are visible to everyone but only the seafarer can update it.
March 20th - Martide's Weekly Changelog and Bug Fixes
New Features
- We renamed Medical Examinations – they are now called Medical Documents.
- We renamed the Document Exceptions page – it is now called National Required Documents.
- On the main Crew Change page, the default filter is now set to Open.
- We added a budget tab to vessel pages. This checks who is onboard the vessel, checks all their contracts and then calculates the total wage amount for the vessel.

March 13th - Martide's Weekly Changelog & Bug Fixes
New Features:
- We added an About Me section to seafarer profiles. Only the seafarer can update this – it’s just for the Crew Manager or Manning Agent’s reference.
- We added BMI (Body Mass Index) calculation to the Physical Specifications section in seafarer profiles. This is automatically set when a user adds a seafarer’s weight and height.

February 27rd - Martide Weekly Changelog & Bug Fixes
New Features
- We added departments to the system. You can create your company’s departments and name them however you wish. To do so, go to Settings > Departments. You can then add your ranks to departments by going to Settings > Seafarer Ranks and assigning the relevant department to that Rank.
- On the Seafarers, Planning, and Payroll pages, you can now filter seafarers by department.
- We have added a new section to seafarer profiles: Employment Documents. This makes it easier to add information about, and upload copies of, a seafarer’s government-specific documentation.

January 23rd - Martide Weekly Changelog & Bug Fixes
New Features
- We have added a new Seafarer Appraisals feature. This allows Crew Managers and Manning Agents to create appraisal forms in the system and allocate them to a vessel. Questions asked in an appraisal can be tailored to specific ranks. Any seafarer that is onboard a vessel can then perform an appraisal for another onboard crew member.

January 16th - Martide Weekly Changelog & Bug Fixes
New Features
- In Seafarer Ranks (Settings > Seafarer Ranks) we added the option to export and download all of the ranks into an Excel spreadsheet.
Bug Fixes
- In Planning, we fixed a bug that was affecting the way Actual Dates are set.
- In Validator, we fixed a bug that stopped the function from handling Alternative Documents correctly.
January 9th - Martide Weekly Changelog & Bug Fixes
New Features
- We added a Custom Document importer on the Data Import page (under Settings.)
- We added a Notes importer on the Data Import page (under Settings.)
- We added a Contract Addendum importer on the Data Import page (under Settings.)
- The Vessel Map no longer shows archived vessels.
- We have added a candidate’s date of birth to the Personal Info section when you’re in edit mode.
- In Assignments, you can now state how many hires are needed for that rank/position.
- We added a Department column to the Seafarer Ranks page under Settings.
- We added Insurance as a new document type in a seafarer’s profile.
Bug Fixes
- We have fixed the bug that prevented seafarers who are Masters or Chief Officers from appearing on the Vessels page.
- There was a bug in the Seafarer Ranks page under Settings that stopped you from reordering the ranks – we have fixed it.
December 5th - Martide Weekly Changelog & Bug Fixes
New Features
- Previously when you created an Assignment or a Recruitment and set your nationality requirements, this didn’t show up anywhere and seafarers of any nationality could still apply for your jobs. Now, the system will check the relevant Data Template and make sure that if you have set a nationality requirement, it corresponds to the nationality set in the Data Template at the Application stage. If the nationalities don’t match or if it hasn’t been set in the Data Template, you will be shown an error message telling you to either:
- A) Contact your manager to update the Data Template before continuing to create the Assignment or Recruitment.
- B) Remove the nationality requirements from the Assignment or Recruitment.
Bug Fixes
- We fixed the default onboard report for vessels – there was previously a limit of 50 entries - this limit has now been removed.
- We fixed the breadcrumbs on the Assignments and Recruitments pages that show when you are creating a new Assignment or Recruitment.
November 28th - Martide Changelog & Bug Fixes
New Features
- Documents (i.e. medical documents, contracts, appraisals etc.) can now be linked to a seafarer’s promotion in their profile.
- We have added lots of new ranks – primarily for cruise and passenger ships – to the system.
- In Assignments there used to be a crew change date which would indicate the date that the crew was to board the vessel. We have changed the name from ‘Crew Change Date’ to ‘Join Date.’

- We have fixed the Add to Assignment and Add to Recruitment buttons in seafarer profiles.

November 21st 2025 - Martide Changelog & Bug Fixes

- The Document Imports feature is now live, meaning that you can now upload batches of seafarer documents into Martide in one go. November 14th 2025 - Martide Changelog & Bug Fixes
New Features
- We have created a Documents Expiry Notifications page (under Settings) where you can set notifications for expired documents for your onboard crew. Once set, you will receive a daily notification about documents that are expiring in a set number of days, or earlier, or if they have any other issues such as missing attachments or documents. The email will contain a link to the Validator page and a list of all affected documents. Please note that the system will only notify you about documents that are required for the current vessel and rank of embarkation for that onboarded seafarer. This is based on the data template
October 31st 2025 - Martide Changelog & Bug Fixes

· It is now possible to import seafarer profile data in bulk - such as Education, Preferences, Work History etc.
· Seafarer bank account details have been tidied to make them more user friendly.

Bug Fixes:
- We fixed the Dashboard for companies who have their Employer and Manning Agency roles enabled.
- We fixed an issue that occurred when the system automatically approved a visa stage which a seafarer has not yet reached. This was affecting the visa stage status on the Crew Change page.
- We made adjustments to the Vessel page rotation tab.
- We added the missing spinner on the Validator page - this now appears when it is loading a lot of data.

Flight Logs are now more user friendly: the error messages have been adjusted and extra columns with more data have been added.

4th April - Martide's Weekly Changelog & Bug Fixes
New Features
- We have a new Visas page under Settings. This page lets you add exceptions for visas. This means that in the system, a required visa type can be covered by a specific passport. For example, if a position requires a tourist visa for Saudi Arabia, this is covered automatically by a United Kingdom passport. Therefore, you can tell the system that the passport covers the visa requirements.
- You can now edit embarkation dates on the Planning page.
Bug Fixes
- The Vessel Worked On and Last Vessel filters have been fixed on a manning agent’s Vacancies page.
- You can now see manual embarkations on a vessel’s matrix.
14th March - Martide's Weekly Changelog & Bug Fixes
New Features:
- New Document Types were added to the Vessels page.
- The manning agents’ Find Job page has been renamed Vacancies.
- On the Vacancies page, we have added the ability to sort every column.
- Also on the Vacancies page, we have added a Pending Applications column, so you will now see the existing column with the number of seafarers who have applied for a job and a second column for pending applications.
- And still in Vacancies, the entire row is now clickable.
Bug Fixes:
- In Planning, there was a bug that meant if an employer updated a manning agent for an embarkation record, the previous manning agent could still see the seafarer information for that entry. This is now no longer the case and the bug has been fixed.

- On the Data Template Required Visas page, you can now specify which types of visa you want to allow for each country.
- Your user Dashboard no longer shows seafarer birthdays that occurred yesterday.

- In Assignments, on the creation page we now show a list of the documents required by a seafarer to apply for an application.

- On the Data Templates settings page we have split the list of required documents by type so the list is easier to navigate.
- On the Validator page, the export now includes Rank.
- Also on the Validator page, the system now supports contracts that have more than one extension expiry date. Previously, only the documents were checked for one extension, but now they will be checked if 2nd, 3rd, 4th etc. extensions are added.

- On the Seafarer page we have renamed some bank account fields to make the account types clearer.
- Also on the Seafarers page, there is now an unlimited check box under the Document filter so that you can search for documents with unlimited expiry dates.
- This means that there is now an Unlimited column when you export this data from the Seafarers page.

6th December - Martide's Weekly Changelog & Bug Fixes

- On the Seafarers page, we have fixed the promoted crew filter.
- On the Vessels page, when you create a new vessel, you will now see a new tab called Rotation which shows details of the next crew change.
- In a seafarer’s profile, if the phone type is set as Whatsapp, there is now a link which opens Whatsapp when clicked on so that you can send a message to the seafarer without leaving the system.
- Recently we allowed you to set an unlimited expiry date for a document. Now, if that unlimited date is set, it displays across the entire system.
- Only open crew changes are now displayed on the Dashboard.

- We have fixed general bugs in Data Templates.
- In Assignments, we have fixed the displayed text for the automatically approved stage that says ‘Skip for ex-crew if the rank is the same’ as it was showing an incorrect status.

- On the Planning page, when you transfer or add a seafarer, the search is now a separate, dedicated page with filters, as opposed to a pop-up box.
- We have added transfer options to Assignments. Previously in an Assignment we used to have options to Approve and Reject it. Now we also have an option for Transfer.

- In Data Templates, users can now delete the Alternative Documents.
- Also in Data Templates, the user can now specify the visa type that is required. Previously you could only select the country, now you can select the country and the type.
- In Assignments, at the Approved Document Validation stage, we now only show the approved documents.
- In Wage Scales it is now possible to select the earning types that will be calculated into the Total column.
- In Document Assembly, the system now allows a user to check if any data for old tags is present in the system before generating the document.
- In User Groups, Documents have been renamed as Validator.

New Features
- All countries now have different visa types including resident, work, and tourist.
- We have renamed ‘Country of Issue’ as just ‘Country’ for all documents.
- We now close Recruitments automatically after 90 days.
- On the Seafarers page, we added a filter for ‘onboard between dates’.
- On the Validator page we added a filter for the main agency - i.e. the main agent for that particular employment.

4th October - Martide's Weekly Changelog and Bug Fixes
New Features
- You can now search for expired or missing documents. The new Validator feature checks the current Data Template for each embarkation record and if a template has been adjusted and a license (for example) has been added, all crew will now require it and the system will flag that that license is missing. When you originally create a Data Template, you add the required licenses, documents etc. But documents and contracts expire and contracts can also be extended, so the Validator is the way to check that everyone onboard has all valid documents when Port State Control comes on board to check.
- When adding visas, there is now a drop down menu for the type (business, tourist etc)

27th September - Martide's Weekly Changelog & Bug Fixes
New Features:
- In the visa drop down menu, we have added an option for a Schengen visa. This means that if you search for Schengen visas and you have already saved a visa that is within the Schengen group of countries, you will be able to see all the seafarers who have that visa. For example, searching for Schengen will show you all seafarers who have a German, French, Spanish, Swedish etc visa.
- On the Crew Change page, we have added additional fields into the Excel export.
- When you’re in a crew change there is now the option to automatically calculate ticket costs. To do so, use the toggle button next to the ticket cost at the bottom of the crew change.
- Also in crew changes, we now show airline logos for flights.

20th September - Martide's Weekly Changelog & Bug Fixes
New Features
- It is now possible to export contracts in bulk on the Seafarers page.
- Also on the Seafarers page, it is now possible to search for promoted crew between specific dates using the new ‘Rank Changed’ filter.
- In Assignments there is a new filter for pending stage types. Using this allows you to see all the Assignments in which a seafarer is pending at a specific stage.
- In Recruitments, there is now a column for the Crew Change date on the main page.
- Previously, if a city has more than one airport, you could only select it during a crew change. This now works across Martide so that you can now select a city in any airport drop down menu.

13th September - Martide's Weekly Changelog & Bug Fixes
New Features:
- In Assignments at the Document Validation stage, there is now an export option. You can export the Document Type, Document Number, Country of Issue, and Start and End Dates. You can only do this when the stage has been approved.
- In Crew Changes, we have removed the Pending status and as a result the remaining statuses are In Progress, Canceled and Completed.
- On the Seafarers page, we have added a filter for documents so that you can search for a specific doc that a seafarer doesn’t have. For example, you can search for all seafarers who don’t have a passport.

6th September - Martide's Weekly Changelog & Bug Fixes
New Features:
- We have made improvements to the Crew Change functionality
- We have made updates to the OCIMF calculations
- There are two new filters on the Seafarers Page: Appraisals and Estimated Left Home Date. This means you can now search for specific appraisal types that were uploaded between a set of dates as well as a seafarer’s ‘left home date’, also between specific dates.

New Features:
- Contract signing can now take place at any stage of an Assignment.
- We have removed the working hours column in Wage Scales, meaning that you now have to add it manually as a supplementary earning type.
- In Document Assembly, your company now has default standard document templates - these can be Onboard Report, Form Response, and Seafarer CV
- In OCIMF, work experience on other tanker types is now included into the OCIMF calculation.
- Also in OCIMF, rejected seafarers are no longer shown on the page.

23rd August - Martide's Weekly Changelog & Bug Fixes
New Features
- In OCIMF it’s now possible to select the embarkation type that will be included in the OCIMF report.
- On the Dashboard in your Vessel Team section only vessels within your management dates are showing.
- In User Groups the option for ‘Fleet’ has been renamed as ‘Vessels’.
- In Crew Changes, there is an option to share a seafarer’s data with the port agent, but now an employer can only share this data if the seafarer has been approved at the document validation stage.
- Also in Crew Changes, before, if an employer booked a flight directly with a travel agent it wasn’t imported into the crew change. This has been fixed and provided that the travel agent is enabled in Martide, even if a flight is booked directly, the data will be automatically imported.
- Again, in Crew Changes, airports are now grouped by city, if the city has several airports.
- In Data Templates, you can set the required visa and additional visas can still be selected during the creation of an Assignment.
- On the Seafarers page, you can now filter seafarers based on their employment start date and employment termination date. The filter’s name is Date of Hire and Date of Termination.
- Also on the Seafarers page, we added a filter for the reason for disembarkation.

Bug Fixes
- There was previously an issue with the embarkation records whereby the system was changing the status of transfers to rejected. We have now fixed this.
- In a seafarer’s profile, there was a problem with uploading CV attachments when it was in a DOCX format. This has now also been fixed.
26th July - Martide's Weekly Changelog & Bug Fixes
New Features
- In OCIMF, we now include draft and pending embarkations in the report for review.
- Also in OCIMF, we now show the embarkation type per seafarer.
- In Crew Changes, we now allow you to create a crew change for the same date for the same vessel.
- In Contracts we have renamed the ‘effective at options’ - i.e. “At embarkation” is now called “At actual left home” and “At sign-on” is now called “At actual sign on”.
- When you are generating a contract, the pdf will now be exported with the following title: {{vessel name}} {{seafarer name}} {{assembly template name}}.

New Features for Seafarers
- The joining date is now shown in your Crew Change information.
- The time and rank are now also shown in your Crew Change information.
- The time on vessel is also showing in your Crew Change information now.
Bug Fix for Crew Managers
- For employers, when you are in Crew Changes and you check the box next to the name of an on- or off-signing seafarer, a large blue bar appears at the top of the screen giving you the option to delete the seafarer. This was not displaying correctly but we have now fixed it.

- Crew Change information is now available via Document Assembly Tags.
- There is now also a Vessels custom field in Document Assembly Tags.
- We have added an agreed salary currency tag to Document Assembly Tags.

- In OCIMF we have added a ‘date selector’ and it is now possible to select a report by the date and to see calculations as they were on that date.
- We have completely redesigned the Crew Changes function. In the past, you could only select one vessel, date and port before adding your on- and off-signers and arranging travel etc. Now, you select the vessel you want to add a crew change for, and your preferred airport, port and berthing date. You can then add additional ports, airports and dates to that change. This gives you a lot more flexibility and allows for a change of plans in the event that you need to conduct the crew change at a different port on your vessel’s route.

- On the Vessels page when you click on the Onboard tab at the top of the page, in the list of your seafarers who are on that particular vessel, you will see a flag next to their name depicting their nationality. For example, if a seafarer is from the Philippines, he or she will be showing the flag of the Philippines.

- In Planning both Crew Managers and Manning Agents can now see a list of documents that are included in the Data Template if a seafarer is missing them. This is for onboard seafarers and those included in a draft embarkation. This list does not include medical or vaccination documents.

- The distinction between Candidates and Seafarers has been made clearer. Now on the Seafarers page / in the Seafarers database you will see anyone who you have processed in any way; for example, seafarers who are actively using Martide and who have applied for your jobs or who you have rejected. The Candidates page is now a searchable recruitment database of seafarers who have a Martide profile that is set to active.
- Job vacancies that are opened as a Recruitment (as opposed to an Assignment) can now only be open for a maximum of 90 days. They will be automatically removed from the website/app after this period. Therefore you will need to create a new Recruitment/job advert for your vacancy after this period.
- We have updated the calculations for a Watchkeeper in the OCIMF function.

- The crew manager Dashboard now only counts vessels within your management dates. You can find the management start and end dates under the Vessel Details section on a vessel’s profile page.
- Crew managers can now search for a User who has an active role on a vessel. This also means that you can search for all the vessels that are assigned to a specific User.
- The creator of an Assignment or Recruitment now receives an email when a new candidate is applied.
- Flights will now import if a seafarer’s name contains special characters.
- On a seafarer’s profile page we added 2 tooltips: 1) Vessel names now show various vessel information and 2) The Actual Sign Off Date in the Work History and Employment sections now show the termination reason and the months onboard value.

- We added a filter on the left hand side of the Dashboard that allows shipowners and crew managers to view the Dashboard as if they were a client. At the top of the menu there is now a drop down box that says ‘All’. To view as a client, click the drop down and click on the client’s name.
- We launched the Seafarer Client Status. If you are a shipowner or crew manager, when you view a seafarer’s profile you will now see two statuses: Master and Client. You can assign a status to each seafarer so that you know what is happening with them at any given time: for example: ‘Active’, ‘NFR’ (Not For Rehire), ‘Retired’ or ‘Applicant’.

- Shipowners / crew managers can control each recruitment process by adding a new ‘Approval stage’ into a pipeline. A member of the User Group can then re-check a candidate and approve them to continue the hiring process
